History and appeal from the words of the mother:
“Ivanko was born in winter 2017. Vaginism passed without difficulty, the vagina was still light. The only thing that alarmed me was the meconium water, of which there was very little.
Until the age of one, the boy seemed to develop normally. However, he did not respond much to toys, did not smile in response. But there was imitation, object games, he communicated, spoke about ten words. About a year later, a regression began, in which everything disappeared. Stereotypes appeared, which grew over time and completely replaced games and any interaction with society. The regression lasted up to three years.
In addition to his mental state, his physical condition deteriorated. He began to have constant diarrhea, which could not be stopped by anything but intravenous drips in the hospital. Vanya suffered from stomach cramps and pain, frequent belching and bloating. My son was sleep deprived. I remember how he and I went through insomnia marathons that could last for 2 or 3 months in a row.
Additional examinations revealed numerous gastrointestinal diseases and specific nervous disorders. This is how the medical treatment began.
We started working with/treating Ivan at the age of 1.5. We were given good prognoses because we started early. But it turned out that the boy had a severe form of autism, with intellectual disability. The correct diagnosis changed the rehabilitation tactics. Now all efforts have been shifted from academic skills to the development of self-service and communication skills.
Now Vanya is mastering the toilet, the ability to dress/undress, wash his hands, hold a spoon to eat on his own, etc. Together with a psychologist and a speech therapist (and his mother), we are developing understanding of the addressed speech, trying to induce sound imitation. We also work on sensory integration and body awareness.
Ivasyk has severe sensory deficits that are difficult to cover at home and require special equipment. Despite the strong desire to accelerate his mental development, we do not forget about physical education and health.
I believe in my son, I believe that we will be able to socialize him, learn independence within the boundaries of his capabilities. And I still dream of giving you a craft. It’s simple, just so that it gives you the opportunity to realize and develop your goal.”
At the moment, he needs a rehabilitation course at the Victoria Center for a total of UAH 27,000.
