History and appeal from the words of the mother:

” Vladimir was born at 39 weeks by caesarean section. He was very weak, had difficulty feeding, and was not gaining weight. We spent almost a year looking for the cause of his general weakness: he later began to hold his head up and sit down.

After the full-scale invasion began, we were forced to leave for Portugal. We continued the examinations there, but did not receive any answers. Only after returning to Ukraine, at Okhmatdyt, did we receive an accurate diagnosis — Prader-Willi syndrome, which arose as a result of a spontaneous genetic mutation.

The paradox of this diagnosis is that the child is initially very weak and unable to eat, but as they get older, the opposite happens: they cannot stop eating, constantly want to eat, and are at risk of obesity.

Vladimir cannot walk on his own yet, but he is already trying to take steps with the support of his mom or dad. When we first learned about the diagnosis, he didn't even have the strength to hold a spoon. Today, we can already see progress — and we believe that he will walk!

But this requires constant rehabilitation. It is rehabilitation that gives him the chance to live a full life. We ask for your support so that Volodymyr can take his first independent steps.”

At the moment, he needs a rehabilitation course at the Physical Rehabilitation Center “Step by Step to the Goal” for a total of UAH 25,000.
