History and appeal from the words of the mother:
My son's name is Nikita Sergeyevich Didenko, he is 11 years old. He has been diagnosed with ASD since 2017 and is being treated by a geneticist and neurologist. It was the geneticists who helped the child obtain social assistance and diagnosed him with a metabolic disorder that led to psycho-speech delay and neurology G93.8; G93.1. He is very sensitive to weather changes. I first started to worry when my child was 2 years old because he wasn't talking. We tried to work with specialists, but they told us that he was still young and might not talk until he was 3 years old.
When he was 2.8 years old, we went to enroll him in kindergarten. The director welcomed us warmly, even though we were internally displaced persons not registered in the area, but she said they had never had children like him before. He turned and looked out the window, she quietly took a set of keys and jingled them near his ear, but he did not turn around. She felt a chill run down her spine. She told me that he could not hear, which is why he did not speak or respond to his name. From that moment on, our investigation and examination of our child began. The next day, we had his hearing checked at the city otolaryngology clinic number 30. They said that his hearing was fine, but he did not understand what sound was and therefore did not pay attention to it; he had no understanding of the world around him. Treatment began, and we saw various specialists. We had 11 neurologists, but ABA therapy sessions yielded results. The sessions were very expensive for us, but now I understand that we made the right choice for our child. In seven years, we have reached a good level, but he still does not have full, clear pronunciation and dialogue.
We really need help because the classes are very expensive. I used to work at a school, and a colleague once asked me, “Where do you get the money for the classes?” And for several years now, this question has been on my mind... Our grandparents always helped us as much as they could, but my mother is no longer with us, and my father is 76 years old and lives in the frontline zone in the Kharkiv region. During the war, he started having health problems, and we are trying to help him. Unfortunately, my husband's parents lost everything in the Donetsk region near Krasny Liman. All their property burned down. They continued to work there for a long time, but eventually left the country because they couldn't take the stress anymore. They used to help us a lot too. Currently, no one can help our child except me and my husband.
We are forced to ask for help because we also rent accommodation. Unfortunately, we do not have our own home, which is another major expense and source of stress for our child and us, his parents. My son is quite athletic. He swims, rollerblades, and has started playing basketball and the piano. He also sees a psychologist and speech therapist. He is a very kind and gentle child. He is the best, sweetest boy, and he will definitely get better!
Perhaps I have written too much, but this is our story. We are working with specialists at the centers and really need your help to rehabilitate our child.
At the moment, we are raising funds to pay for rehabilitation at Deti in Sport, with a total amount of 24,794 UAH.
