The I Dream to Live Foundation took part in an important event dedicated to World Autism Awareness Day On April 3, the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater hosted the performance of “A Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, which became an opportunity not only to learn about the story of a special boy, but also to better understand the topic of autism.
The I Dream to Live Foundation took part in an important event dedicated to World Autism Awareness DayOn April 3, the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater hosted the performance of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, which was an opportunity not only to learn about the story of a special boy, but also to gain a deeper understanding of autism.Before the performance, a discussion was held with the participation of experts and families who have experience in dealing with children with ASD. They talked about why autism is not a disease, how to find an approach to children with a unique perception of the world, and the important role that art therapy and theater play in the process of socialization.
Among the invited speakers were Irina Popovskayafounder and head of the “I dream to live” foundation, who shared her practical experience of working with children with special educational needs.
