Ivan is six years old. He lives in Kyiv with his parents, who try to create a safe and calm world for him every day. A world where there is no fear, no pain, and no noise. Since birth, Ivan has been living with a chronic mental illness — a diagnosis that is not always visible at first glance, but which greatly affects his life.
Ivan perceives the world around him in a special way. He finds it difficult to control his emotions, adapt to changes, and communicate with other children. What seems familiar and simple to most people can cause fear, anxiety, or confusion for him. Ivan gets tired quickly, needs adult support, and stability in his daily life.
Despite this, Ivan is a very sensitive and kind boy. He subtly reacts to care, calms down when his family is around, and can rejoice in little things: a familiar melody, a calm voice, a sense of security. At such moments, his parents see how much light he has and how much potential is hidden behind a difficult diagnosis.
For Ivan, regular sessions with specialists, psychological assistance, and social and domestic rehabilitation are vital. They are the ones who help him gradually learn to cope with emotions, adapt to the world, and take small but very important steps forward.
Ivan's family does not give up and continues to fight for his future. But it is very difficult for them alone. Every support is a chance to give Ivan the opportunity to live a more peaceful, stable, and dignified life.
