History and appeal from the words of the mother:
“Veronika developed like a normal child until she was 2 years old, but later we realized that something was wrong with the child, she often got hysterical, did not answer questions, forgot her previous skills, and we began to sound the alarm. We went to the Rivne Regional Children's Hospital to see a neurologist, had Eeg examined and consulted a speech therapist, audiologist and psychologist, the neurologist diagnosed her with a speech delay, told us to monitor her development, and recommended classes with a speech therapist. We actively worked with the speech therapist, her speech seemed to improve, but her behavior became worse, so we went to a psychiatrist for a consultation, where the diagnosis of Ras was suspected.
Veronika started attending kindergarten, was seen by doctors, and at the age of 4 was diagnosed with Ras, after 4 years, problems in orthopedics (varus deformity) began. We realized that classes with a speech therapist alone would not give us the desired result, so we started going to the regional center for rehabilitation and various classes, attending kindergarten was also not so easy, there were no correctional teachers, so we decided to move to the city and attend a correctional kindergarten for such children. Before the full-scale invasion, we had regular classes and rehabilitation and, of course, a kindergarten where we also had classes, and Veronika was doing very well in her development.
When the war broke out, we decided to move to the village to our parents' place, where it was easier with such children, and for a while we froze classes, but we tried to keep in touch with the children. Later we resumed everything and started working for results, because we had to go to school. Now Veronika has graduated from the 1st grade of a regular school, but in an inclusive form of education, we are trying to adapt her to life, but we still need to work hard to bring her as close to normal as possible, we do not stop and work on it every day.”
At the moment, she needs a rehabilitation course at the NGO “ON THE WINGS OF DREAMS” and the Territory Development and Rehabilitation Studio for a total of UAH 19,950.
